Unfinished Business in Our Education and Criminal Justice Systems
After years of running away from the idea, I've finally realized that I want to be a teacher. Teaching is not something you can learn or have proof and success of doing by passing an exam or course. As a teacher one has the duty to enlighten, inspire, tell the truth, and correct. This discussion (see link below) is about addressing the ongoing issues and tragedies (and travesties) of our education and criminal justice systems. We have all become victims of it living in the United States at one time or another. The last thing we should allow is for it to continue in any shape or form! This type of work is what I hope to make my life's work through giving a non-traditional education of truth to those in my community. Call me a dreamer, but the way life stands now is not the destination. We must constantly move forward and attend to Unfinished Business .

I'm back!
Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
It's been a long time (four years exactly) and I almost forgot about my dear blogs. Reinventing Grace is still a work in progress (pun intended). I will try to update and visit more often. Thanks. Until then, enjoy the delicious BBQ, fireworks, and the most eloquent literature of Frederick Douglass's "The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro" ( excerpt read by James Earl Jones).

State of Affairs @10:55pm
We are all human/ yes, sir/ We are all people/ yes, maam/ yes,
you are/ yes, I am.
We all make mistakes/ Don’t you remember when you loved me
in the wrong way? Sometimes our hearts pump blood full of hate.
We all take life for granted/ like God can’t just take it/ but
without Him, we wouldn’t have it
So, you’re naked here in my room/ So?- A war is outside and
all we hear are booms/ So what if we’re in danger and doom/ I will hold onto
you...
Oh, my lover/ oh, my friend/ oh, my enemy/ you are all I
want you to be…to me.
